I'm going to let you in on a little secret that I actually have never admitted before now...

I used to HATE working out when I was in my teens and 20s.
I hated the gym and hated lifting weights.

What I didn't realize was that I was actually working out everyday. I had been dancing since the age of three and was on a professional dance team by 18 and was logging 20 plus hours a week of dance which i didn't count or realize was actually exercise. It didn’t feel like exercise because I was doing something that I loved and came natural to me.

Then someone introduced me to yoga in my mid-twenties and I was hooked.

Since then I have understood the key to staying motivated and committed to working out is finding something that you actually enjoy

I eventually evolved to other studio style workouts like pilates and barre. I think something about the studio and choreography of the workouts felt like home to me. I even became certified to teach barre and yoga.

When I became pregnant with my first I continued the workouts I loved. Yoga, barre and reformer pilates were on my weekly schedule.

However I quickly grew frustrated with the instructors who just would tell me to “skip that” or “just do what feels best for you”. It would drive me crazy, after all studio workouts are not cheap and I felt like I was wasting my time. Even myself as a certified teacher did not have the knowledge of how and when I should be modifying my workouts.

After having my first child via emergency c-section, I waited about 8 weeks to start working out again and just became so sad that my body would not “perform” the way it used to.

It just felt different and I felt lost.

Fast forward to my second pregnancy which was filled with pelvic pain and then a thrown out back 2 weeks postpartum. Something had to change.

This is when I decided to start educating myself in prenatal and postpartum fitness.

By my third pregnancy (yes it took me 2 previous pregnancies to finally get it) I was so much more prepared. I found the right muscles, activated them and started lifting weights for the first time in my life.  This was the most amazing pregnancy.

I felt fantastic and stronger than ever.

After baby number 3 came, I knew just what to do. I started out slow but with intention and gained back the strength I needed to carry the weight of mom to three!

I am here to share my knowledge with you so that you can have a strong, confident and supported pregnancy and postpartum time.
